Siteman continues legacy of philanthropic support for cancer research

The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the School of Medicine is today among the most recognized cancer programs in the U.S. The longstanding support of Alvin Siteman (left) and his wife, Ruth, whose $35 million gift named the center in 1999, has been critical. Timothy J. Eberlein, MD, director of the Siteman Cancer Center, is on the right.

High school students can experience college with WUSTL summer programs

WUSTL’s High School Summer Experiences program offers students from the U.S. and around the world a chance to experience all facets of college life with for-credit and noncredit options. Programs range from one to five weeks, with both residential and commuter choices.

Panel discusses genetic privacy in a new era

Lainie Friedman Ross, MD, PhD (left), of the University of Chicago, addresses the panel at the Brown School’s Policy Forum program “First, Do No Harm: Genetic Privacy in the Age of Genome Sequencing” Feb. 25. Panel participants addressed the ethical implications of genetic privacy and incidental findings that may occur because of genome testing.

Tornado drill set for today moved to Thursday

WUSTL had planned to test its emergency siren system at 1:30 p.m. today (March 4) as part of a statewide tornado drill. However, the statewide drill has been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6. The test will occur unless there is the potential for severe weather or another emergency at that time.
